Michael Ore - Class
of 1981

Inducted January, 2006
While in high school, Michael ran track, was in the
band, starred in school plays, sang in the show choir, won
various awards in a
number of science-fair competitions and earned a place at the
International Science
Fair.
He joined the Ohio Army National
Guard after high school. Michael earned a baccalaureate degree
with concentrations in psychology and biology, and a master's
degree in philosophy, before enrolling in the U.S. Army War College to earn
a master's degree in Strategic
Level Leadership upon completion.
Michael served on a number of humanitarian and nation-building
missions in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, along with
emergency missions in
the U.S. (such as the Lucasville, Ohio prison riots and providing
disaster relief in Mississippi after hurricanes).
His service decorations include five Meritorious Service
Medals, four Army Commendation
Medals, a Joint Service
Achievement
Medal, four Army Achievement Medals, two Humanitarian Service Medals,
the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service
Medal, two Ohio Distinguished
Service
Medals and three Ohio Commendation Medals.
Michael is a member of the Whitehall Veterans of Foreign
Wars, the American Legion, the American Society of Poets, the International
Sport Karate
Association, the Military
Police
Alumni Association, is a Master Mason and a reserve police officer.
