Additional Class of 1958 Info:

Besides being the first graduating class of Whitehall-Yearling, we had other firsts:

- Started dress-up day - Friday

- Inaugurated "senior tables" in cafeteria

Had a football score against Dublin of 78-0 (Whitehall won of course)

Our senior year we won the co-championship by upsetting Gahanna 43 to 41

As juniors we won the championship in baseball after breaking Reynoldsburg's winning streak of 22 games.

The first formal dance at Whitehall was a Christmas Dance called the "Mistletoe Ball," held in 1957.

We had a senior government day when we were in charge of the city. 1958 - boy did the crime rate soar.

Lin Compton was given Merited Agonis Award

Our class newspaper was called "The Innocent Bystander," and it contained lots of gossip about the school. There were articles in "The Innocent Bystander" published under the bylines of Louella Parsons and Hedda Hopper (two rival Hollywood gossip columnists). While many people may have thought Louella and Hedda had joined forces to report on all the happenings around WYHS, but reliable sources have recently reported that "Innocent Bystander" articles attributed to Ms. Parsons were actually written by Cledith Kinnaird, and articles attributed to Ms. Hopper were written by Roberta Catalina.
