WYHS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 8, 2003 MEETING
As of the March 8, 2003 meeting, we
will be starting an 18-month countdown to the All Class
Reunion planned for the weekend of September 24, 2004, which is Homecoming
Weekend.
We need to create a 'membership drive' now that most
of the paperwork to form the legal corporation
of the Association is completed.
Rachel Duvall will write an article on the WYHS
Alumni Association and submit it to
the Whitehall News for publication.
We also will need to start thinking about
fundraising, as well. It was
mentioned that many people leave legacies to associations
in their
wills. It
was recommended that we encourage this,
as well.
It was also recommended that we volunteer
to assist other alumni with
their events.
We will finalize the by-laws
of the organization at
the March 8, 2003 meeting and file with the Secretary of State,
requesting non-profit
status. Leo said the answer would be
back in approximately
3 months. After we receive approval
to be a non-profit corporation
we can apply for the tax status, as
well.
It was recommended that the Association
enter a float in Whitehall's
Fourth of July parade.
Leo Knoblauch and Rachel Duvall are
both
members of WCCA and will
already be committed for other events during the parade, so
we would need volunteers
to drive the vehicle and to walk with it to pass out information.
The next meeting was scheduled
for 12:30 p.m. March
8, 2003 at Rooster's on Hamilton Road. It was decided to
move it
away from
the community
park to
see if we could increase
attendance.Respectfully submitted,
Rachel Duvall
