Alumni Soccer Game, 2001

They huffed. And they puffed. And they sweated a whole bunch.
Hampered by soaring temperatures, high humidity, and (some of them claimed) old age, the Alumni Soccer Team took on this year's WYHS Rams soccer team in a fun, well-played match that saw the Alumni Squad outscored 5 to 4 by the high school team. Lee Jeffers, head coach of the Rams soccer team, says this is the first time the Alumni have lost since they started playing Alumni Soccer games in the fall of 1988.
Here's the 2001 Alumni Soccer Team. You'll notice that most of these Alumni were not even born when I graduated from WYHS in 1971. I guess Alumni Soccer must be a young alumni thing, huh?

And next year, I'll have a tough decision to make - do I videotape the game again, or do I play? Based on what I saw in today's game, playing would have been a heck of a lot more fun than videotaping! It looked like everyone who played had a lot of fun.
