Alumni Soccer Game 2004
Once again, there will be a limited roster (probably
24 people) for the Alumni Soccer
Team. Contact Lee Jeffers as soon
as possible to reserve your spot.
The game is Saturday, August 14, 2004.

Alumni Soccer Game 2003
The 2003 Alumni Soccer
Game was a huge success
- it was a good game, with not only a large number of
alumni attending,
but a large number of fans
watching the game. It looked for
a while like the
Alumni Team was going to
go home with another victory, but
the Varsity Team rallied and the
game ended
in a tie. If someone would like
to provide a scoring recap,
I'll be happy to post it here.
The Alumni Soccer Team raised $200, which
was donated to the WYHS Soccer Program,
and one of the alumni players
donated a soccer ball with signatures
from all of the Columbus Crew players
that was raffled during the Varsity season
to raise money for the high school
soccer program.

Let me know if you can help identify
the folks in the pictures. My contact
information is just below the link to
the practice photos.

you'd like to identify
the folks in any of these
pictures (including their
grad years), I'd love
to add that info to
the web site.

Alumni Soccer Game, 2002
I thought being in the Alumni Band was rather strenuous
- marching up and down the field while trying to play a
musical instrument. Turns out that running up and down
a soccer field while competing with a bunch of high school
kids brings a whole new meaning to the word "strenuous."
Here's a picture from one of the July "open field" practices
where alumni and current players honed their soccer skills.
As you can see, there was no dress code in effect:
There is some talk about the Alumni Soccer Team donating
enough money to the high school team to give each high
school player their own soccer ball. If you'd like to get
involved with the effort, please send an E-mail to rob@wyhs.org
Please Click Here for the 2002
Alumni vs Varsity soccer game, which was held on the Lamby
Lane field in August. There were almost 20 alumni huffing
and puffing during the game. As always, contact Lee Jeffers
if you have any questions about the alumni soccer team
or the boys' team. His E-mail is socr2melee@yahoo.com
If you scroll down past this year's boys' schedule, you'll
find links to previous years' Alumni Soccer Team activities
(oh, okay - there's only one link. By saying "you'll
find links..." I won't have to rewrite this paragraph
every year.)

This alumni stuff is a heck of a lot more fun if a bunch of people are
involved. Maybe our motto should be "The more the merrier!"
I distribute an electronic WYHS.org newsletter via Email - usually about
once a month. The newsletter contains a bit of info
about what's going on in Whitehall and as much Alumni-related
info as I can find.
I'd love to have 5,000 WYHS Alumni on my E-mail distribution list by the
time our "All Class" reunion rolls around. Please
Click Here to sign up for the mailing list. Also, please spread
the word about the web site and mailing list to your fellow WYHS classmates.

To reach the old wyhs.org "start" page
The site has several domain names,
including www.wyhs.org, www.wyhsRams.com,
and www.RamsAlumni.com.
All bring you to this site. From here
you have access to a ton
of information, memories, and stories
sure to be of interest to WYHS alumni. You
may also notice that some of the pages have
a different "look and feel." I'm in the
process of changing some things. If
you find a link that doesn't work or an image
that doesn't load, would you please
let me know? Oh - this page is the "new" look.
You should know that this wyhs.org / wyhsRams.com web site
is a private web site. I've got no affiliation
with the Whitehall City Schools or any
other "official" organization
in Whitehall. In addition, I have absolutely
no connection with a site called WhitehallRams.com.
Information published on the site is gathered
from various sources, and since this is a hobby
for me, there's a real
good chance you're going to find some mistakes
here and there. All information is presented "as is" -
if you're looking for perfection, there's a real
good chance you're going to be disappointed
in here. If you find an error or an omission,
please let me know and I'll try to get it fixed
as soon as I get a chance.
When my wife's multiple sclerosis progressed to
the point where she couldn't be left alone for long
periods of time, I started a home-based business
so I could work from the house and take care of her.
